In an effort to be transparent with our valued customers, we wanted to offer a place for customers to ask our president questions about RAMP skis, snowboards, and longboards. If you have a question for Mike that you want addressed in his weekly blog, please email [email protected] and include "Ask Mike" in the subject line.

Hello friends of RAMP,

Happy Summer. Speaking of summer we get asked all of the time, what do you do in the summer, do you guys shut down? Although I wish we could. Whereas some companies slow down, we are actually really busy in the summertime. As a matter of fact, we travel less, but in almost every other way we are jamming. Our goal was to get upwards of 60-percent of our total RAMP ski forecast produced by about mid July. Then in early August, begin production on the RAMP snowboards, and get them to about 60% of the forecast in stock. We are getting all kinds of OEM orders now so we are producing product for other companies to resell under their brand names—producing for companies to use for promotional projects. In addition, we are working on a new project; we are developing kite snowboards for a company that has the best kite snowboarders in the world. These guys literally go off, kiting up a mountain, launching off the top, getting over 100 feet in the air—not for the faint hearted. A nice side benefit is that the owner of their company is teaching me to kite board on the water this summer!!! We are also developing several sets of different prototypes for snow bike skis for a couple companies. And we launched longboards this summer and are in the process of developing and finishing three more models.

You can imagine this puts a lot of pressure on our engineer, writing all these development programs and also on Polly, our Art Director, who has to develop so many graphics, the website upkeep, make new SKUs to enter into the system...the list goes on.

The great news is that we are busy and cranking along. Personally I'm really enjoying summer, biking, paddle boarding, surfing, etc, it's great. I won't be sad though when we start skiing again. As a matter of fact we are going to Mt Hood over Labor Day weekend to test 15-16 prototypes we've been working on.

Thanks for listening. Let me know your thoughts. Comment below or email me questions ([email protected]).
