Chickadee 2014 (Ski Only)

The award-winning Chickadee is the perfect choice for the skier who spends 65% of the time on groomers but likes to venture off trail, too. A 90mm waist is the best shape for versatility, especially when it comes to groomers, providing a catch-free tip that can hook up and carve like a race ski. With the 65%-35% Camber, the medium-minus early rise and reverse sidecut in tip, strong tail, and traditional camber underfoot makes this the go-to ride.

Constructed with a FSC certified full bamboo core, the ride is strong. Even stronger with a Kevlar veil, which adds energy to your turns and dampens vibrations. Our specially designed Razor Cut sidecut provides strong edge grip—straighter where you need cutting power and curved in the right spots for turning.

LOVE at first sight - ClimbingBetty

I first saw these skis in Powder magazine back in August and immediately dubbed them my "dream ski." By the time I got a chance to demo them in March, I had convinced myself that the Beaver would be better for what I was looking for (the elusive one ski quiver), so I demoed those first. I definitely liked them but figured I should give both skis a ride. I hopped on the Chickadees and they were just SO MUCH FUN!!! I didn't have to think about how to ski, they just responded. After a couple of runs, I took the Beavers out again because I really wanted to like them, but they just didn't make me smile like the Chickadees did. I immediately ordered the Chickadees and rode them last weekend—and promptly had the best ski day of my life on them! They felt responsive and fast. They definitely wanted to rip, but were patient with me when I wanted to be a little lazy. They handled icy patches with aplomb and held strong through slush and crud (one day, the high was 44F and the next day it was 27F). They are also LIGHT! When I took them to be mounted, the ski techs all remarked about how light they are. Since they are light without sacrificing stiffness, I will be looking at a wider model for powder/backcountry skiing.

I would call myself an "advancing intermediate" skier, but definitely felt more comfortable on expert terrain on the Chickadees than I ever have before. I ski in the Northeast and think the Chickadee will be a great one-ski quiver for our terrain. RAMP's assessment of the Chickadee as a "Frontside-leaning Do It All" ski is spot on. I plan on having my Chickadees for awhile as my "daily driver." In addition, the rep and customer service have been STELLAR. RAMP's mission, stellar customer service and excellent product have created a LOYAL customer!!!

All-mountain perfecto - tetondevidasi

These skis bring out my aggressive and confident spirit, and are super fun! From powder to groomers and even the unfortunate death cookies the Chicadees have proven powerful, highly responsive and extremely versatile. They are a bit quick too :)—so if you are looking for versatility, fun, and power—I highly recommend these!

The Chickadee is a stellar ride for laying over turns on hard snow and exploring the mountain in search of the soft stuff. - Teton Gravity Research
