Best known as the bassist for Jane’s Addiction, Chaney has toured and recorded with Alanis Morissette as well as Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders. He’s recorded with bands such as Slash and Teagan & Sara. He is considered to be one of the great session musicians.
Jane’s Addiction was founded by Dave Navarro, Stephen Perkins, and fellow RAMP musician Perry Farrell. The band fused elements of heavy metal, the straight-forward punk energy of Iggy Pop, and psychedelic guitar work with Perry’s flamboyant Freddy Mercury-esque stage persona to make them one of the greatest alt rock bands in American music history.
He was introduced to RAMP through Red Light Management’s Victor Waryas, an investor in the company. When he’s not playing music, Chaney is skiing on his RAMP Peacepipes.
