The carvy do-everything ski

Should I get a powder ski? What about those groomer days? And bumps and trees? hmmmmmm. To the rescue the Beaver, you get to have it all and who doesn’t like an award-winning Beaver? The magazine testers agree; you can have one ski that does it all and does it well. This 100mm ski is fast, turny, loose in the soft snow, and aggressive when it’s hard. A girl should be able to have it all and now she can. The Beaver uses a rock-solid full bamboo core and a full layer of Kevlar so it laughs at hard snow, and is tough, solid and fun. P.S. this is not a diet Groundhog, it’s the same ski with a women’s graphic. We believe women need the same high level of performance. It’s about how athletic you are, not what gender.

Great carver and great all around ski. - JimM

I am writing this after 3 runs on this ski. I come to this ski from telemarking and wanting a solid all mountain ski for AT. I also wanted an American made ski to encourage one of the many companies that design really great skis here. I was looking for a light but really strong ski. I wanted to pair it with a fully releasable AT binding mostly for side and in bound. I like that this ski uses bamboo and 3 layers of glass and 1 layer of kevlar. I paired it with Tyrolia Ambition 12 bindings. Mounting (by the way) was easy but I recommend a specialized 9mm bit.

Prior to this ski I had never skied alpine before - only tele on Voile Vector BC skis with NTN. It was really an easy transition to carving big time on these skis. They do have to be driven hard to enjoy them - don't buy them if you slide down the mountain. I also found they did well on the bumps and moguls. On my light Vectors, moguls were really hard but not so much on these skis. The only thing I would note is that in really tight woods I found the tail slower to release than my Vectors with the rockered tail. But that's why they carve so well.

I also like the support I received from Ramp staff - they were really helpful answering my questions. They say these skis ski longer than the listed length and I believe it. Their normal recommendation for a person 5'3" and 142lbs would be a 159. I got a 169cm length to be more like my Vectors and for more speed. I have not regretted my choice. But these skis were really fast for all mountain skis. And did I mention they carve well? Think be careful about your inside knuckles and poles.

Hope this helps....

Fave BC ski - skiergirl

I have my Beaver's setup with some dynafit bindings for the backcountry and they rock. I am 5'6" and ski the 169cm and it is PERFECT for my backcountry adventures. They are relatively light for skinning up, and are the perfect length for any type of run down. I am able to make quick turns in tight trees, or let it open and rip down a chute or bowl. Love them!

So much fun! - Megan Davin

I get excited every time I get to go skiing because not only do I love skiing but also love my Beaver skis! They have been so much fun all winter and continue their playfulness in the corn snow!
