Supervisor background: Vanessa has a wide range of experience in the snowsports industry as a journalist, nonprofit founder, and social media marketing expert. The students will work under Vanessa, who will impart the knowledge of brand building. The following descriptions are general. We want to know what area is particularly of interest to the applicant, but as a startup we will ask the student to partake in all of the genres below.

 

RAMP does not have paid internships, however, we guarantee that a student will come away with priceless knowledge of how a startup operates in all of the categories that are described below, plus receive school credit if needed.

Requirements: Laptop for day-to-day use. Must have own transportation.

 

Social Media Community Manager/SEO
Qualifications: This person is passionate and active in this activity already. He/she is adept in Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Vimeo, Pinterest, Foursquare, Linkedin, and is active with a number of personal accounts already. He/she is interested in and up to date with current events in social media (e.g. reads Mashable in spare time). Skier and or snowboarder general cultural knowledge is very helpful. This person will also help increase our social reach and Google organic search by working on keyword management throughout all of our social media channels.


Consumer Relations/Warehouse Assistant
Qualifications: Great people skills, comfortable working with many different small projects and managing details. This person will get a very broad insight into the inner workings of the ski industry and consumer interaction. He/she will help with customer service and logistics of shipping/packaging products to send out to customers.

 

Film and Video Editor
Qualifications: Passionate about film, video, collecting films we get from athletes, mountain reps and fans, and turning them into interesting posts for YouTube and our website. Filming product testimonials, editing, and posting on our site. Familiar with Final Cut Pro and/or iMovie.


Graphic Design
Qualifications: This person will assist in social media campaigns by designing creative graphics such as memes, Facebook cover image art, and contest applications in order to broaden brand awareness and engage the social media audience. Must have a laptop with Adobe Creative Suite available for day-to-day use. 

 

Consumer Event Assistant
This person will assist with local consumer on-snow demo events and consumer promotional events. They will learn and become efficient in product tuning, binding technical skills, and product information. Knowledge in this area is certainly a plus. They will also learn about face-to-face consumer interaction and sales.

 

Production
This person will be trained in ski production and ski and snowboard tuning using the most sophisticated equipment in the industry. He/she will learn how to make skis using our patent-pending manufacturing process, assist the production crew by preparing materials, and learn the process of finishing all product that RAMP Sports sends out. Experience is a huge plus, comfortable around machinery is a must. If you are applying specifically to do production, please apply with Factory Manager Evan Howard ([email protected]).

 

We just want people with the skills who are excited to do the work and learn, we're not too concerned about their specific major.
