Perfect All-Mountain Ski by Lynne
I just moved to Utah from the East Coast last summer so I formerly skied a much narrower all-mountain ski. I was looking for a wide all-mountain ski that would handle the powder, open bowls, and trees and was expecting to have to just put up with whatever performance I got on the groomed run-outs to the lifts. These skis have been great! They are a blast in fresh snow, turn quickly enough in the trees and, especially with riser plates under the bindings, handle even packed snow fabulously! I have always been skeptical of "women's" gear because very rarely is it actually designed for women rather than just a lighter man. These skis are changing my tune! These skis have been great for a strong recreational skier who likes to ski whatever looks interesting at the moment. I would recommend these to anyone I know! (Posted on 4/10/11)
Put the Sexy Back in Skiing by Brooke Edwards
It is absolutely impossible for me to resist being dirty here, but I promise to behave during this review if you promise to as well. Once my beaver was mounted for the first time (with Tyrolia alpine bindings you dirty -minded fool), I fell in love. This ski boasts a perfect all mountain design worthy of Alaskan terrain. The combination of sidecut with overall wide dimensions makes for a fun ski no matter what is underfoot. I've been alpine skiing since I was a wee tot, and had gotten to a point in my skiing where I was bored (hence the reason I started telemark skiing). However, The Beavers have renewed my love affair with the locked down heel. They have put a charge in my turn, a spring in my moguls and a float in my pow. I am like a boy crazed teenage girl and the Beavers are my hottest crush. It is fun to have a ski that when people ask me to rate its performance, I just respond with "perfect". Annoyed with riding too soft a ski that chatters and flops? Just plain over too stiff a ski that bucks you off like a rodeo cowgirl? Then drop what your doing and jump on a pair of Beavers to show the world what it means to ski for real.
