It’s that time of year when we are madly finishing all the details on the new product for 15-16. Lots of great new skis, boards and longboards in the pipeline. We just had a preview show at Providence and are leaving for the National Tradeshow, SIA in Denver on Tuesday next week, then to the International Show in Munich the day after that ends. We then have two on snow shows starting then as well at Copper and Stratton where the shop people test next years new products. We also get all the Magazine Tests scheduled there. Sorry I’ve missed a couple blogs, it was madness with the ski show travel and then back to a very busy time here at RAMP, which is great. Many of you have been out on your new skis and boards and some of you have been in some great early snow. This picture is of Brant Moles’s new 192 Peacepipe he was touring with near Alta. When we built our new factory in Park City one of the biggest things we wanted to do was create the most flexibility in manufacturing of any factory in our Industry. We wanted to be able to use any materials in the skis or snowboards and not worry about how the old tooling methods would be affected and also be able to change shapes at will vs. having to make a new mold. Happy 4th of July!!!!!! At RAMP, we are especially excited about this U.S. holiday, as we spend so much of our resources, time, and effort making products—normally made in Asia and Europe—right here in the U.S.A. We are actively trying to bring ski and snowboard manufacturing back to America. The U.S. was once a major ski and snowboard producing nation. Rossignol had a big factory in Vermont in the 70s-80s. That closed and the production all moved oversees. K2 and Burton had big factories here and both eventually went to China for their production.
